We would like to welcome Luka S.-P. and her family: husband- Nihoa, sons- Ikena (4 1/2 yrs.), Ta’imua (3 yrs.), Pai’ia (2 yrs.), stepson- Ra (12 yrs. old- lives with grandparents in L-town 8th ward), and baby#4 (due December 20th) to our L-town 4th Ward Ohana and more importantly Luka to our L-town 4th Ward Relief Society. Luka was born and raised in Kaneohe and Nihoa is from Laie. Luka and Nihoa met through a mutual friend in 2001. Luka first met him when her friend and her were dropping something off at his house and upon first meeting him, Luka knew they would be in each others lives for a long time. She then laughed at the thought because Nihoa was a stranger and she knew very little about him. When they became best friends, Luka thought that was the feeling she had had. It wasn’t until they started dating and then got married that Luka realized how true that feeling was. Once they got married they moved back to L-town. Luka’s favorite thing to eat is dessert, she LOVES ice cream, and watches a certain number of shows on TV. Luka is very family-oriented. They do a lot of things with her mother’s side of the family (cousins, aunts, and uncles) and Luka loves all the gatherings that they have. They play music, games, laugh, talk story, and have a really good time. Luka’s favorite place to be is where her family is! Luka likes to bake desserts, loves to read (always anxious to hear great suggestions!), loves playing basketball (She was very sporty in school and misses playing!). She also loves music. She doesn’t play very much, but she likes to sing. Luka and her boys sing and dance all the time. She also loves to sing with her sister and the rest of her family. Luka’s ultimate favorite thing to do is spend time with her husband, children, and the rest of her family. There are so many things Luka would like to learn and do. Not a really big deal but she hopes to one day take a cruise somewhere with her husband and family. Secretly, Luka would like to be a coach someday, hopefully basketball! She really loves the game and had great coaches that it seems only fitting! Since Luka has moved into this ward, she has met so many sweet, kind people who constantly lend a hand, an ear, or a smile to make this ward seem more and more like home. Thank you everyone for excepting Luka and her family into this ward! It means so very much to them! We are so excited to have Luka and her family as part of our L-town 4th Ward Ohana and more particularly our Relief Society.
