October Spotlight

We would like to welcome Bobure W. and her handsome husband, Simion, to our L-town 4th Ward Ohana. Bobure is from Kiribati and Simion is originally from Saipan but his family moved to Guam when he was 14 yrs. old. Bobure came to L-town to attend BYUH. While here, she met Simion (a long distant relationship) through a mutual friend who happened to be Simion’s best friend from high school. Then Simion came to L-town to officially meet Bobure (sooo sweet), stayed, and they are living happily ever after.

Bobure and Simion both like the color blue but different shades. Bobure loves baby blue and Simion loves ocean blue. Bobure loves Chinese food and vanilla ice cream while Simion loves Subway and ANY flavor of ice cream. Bobure’s favorite show is the Food Channel while Simion loves to watch UFC (a fighting show). Now that Bobure is not going to school she loves ANY day of the week. They both like to hang out with their friends and talk to their families who live so far away. Bobure’s ultimate favorite thing to do is talk to her Mom who lives thousands of miles away. The one thing that Bobure would like to learn is how to bake because Simion loves to eat foods that are baked.
We are so excited to have Bobure and Simion in our ward and Bobure in our Relief Society!

Presidency Message from October Newsletter

“....When a temple is conveniently nearby, small things may interrupt your plans to go to the temple. Set specific goals, considering your circumstances, of when you can and will participate in the temple ordinances. Then do not allow anything to interfere with that plan. This pattern will guarantee that those who live in the shadow of the temple will be as blessed as are those who plan far ahead and make a long trip to the temple..... When we live righteously and have received the ordinances of the temple, everything else is in the hands of the Lord. We can do the best we can, but the final outcome is up to Him. We should never complain, when we are living worthily, about what happens in our lives.”

Trunk-or-Treat

This past Wednesday night our ward had our annual Trunk-or-Treat. The weather was beautiful and comfortable making it an enjoyable and fun night for all of those in costume (and those not in costume..hehehe). The costumes ranged from ghouls and goblins to princesses and fairies, to our favorite Disney characters, video game characters and book characters. The trunks were well decorated and the tricks we had to do to get our treat were very creative. The evening was well spent with great people! What a wonderful way to start the celebration of the holiday season as a ward ohana (family)!
